Our Egg-cellent Easter!

Easter is my very favorite holiday and has been for as long as I can remember. I don't know if my excitement is contagious or if Porter just happens to love it as much as I do, but what I DO know is that during the past month we celebrated Easter every chance we got! We took in every opportunity to participate in any activity that involved Easter. We had our picture taken with the Easter Bunny, had lunch with the Easter Bunny (extra special), went to several Easter-themed birthday parties, and then of course, Easter weekend we made every minute count being with our family.

We headed to Gilmer for the first part of our Easter weekend celebration. We cherished the gorgeous weather and Porter showed off all of his newest tricks while enjoying the excitement of Easter. (He is changing quickly...before our eyes....and we love every minute of it!)

His new love is Poppy's truck. He spends most of his time inside the truck when we are in Gilmer. He likes to "pretend" he's driving and of course it's fun to ride around the pasture with no seat belt! :)
Grandad even stopped by for a visit and we enjoyed him as usual! :)
oh....and the latest and greatest....Mia and Poppy have a new ping pong table, so you can imagine what we did most of the weekend! :) The competition was intense! (and fun!)
There's also a new swing set that Porter is thrilled about. He calls it "Mia's park"
Billy took advantage of the fresh air by smacking the baseball up into the air!
Dee entertained P as usual with fun bubbles :)
Porter showed us all how he can hit the ball off the tee with POWER!
oh....and of course he can hula hoop too!
He also LOVES E-O...they are big buds :)
Mia knows how to get on his level better than anyone! :)
This is such a true picture of what he looks like in the country: filthy and usually with a new discovery. This time it was a toad! (in bug box)
He was spoiled with Easter baskets from everyone. This was from sweet Dee:
He got to hunt Easter eggs in the wide open and even found one in Grandad's overalls! :)
Mia was right there to make sure he didn't miss a one!
FUN FUN!
Porter had his first experience of dying Easter eggs. He really liked it! :)
Proud! :)
Porter got to see the "catch" Daddy and Poppy brought back from fishing
Not bad!
the things we do for him! :)
We drove back on Saturday evening so we could go to church at our church on Sunday morning. It was a great service and what I loved most was this....Porter was told to bring a flower to church and he got to place it on this beautiful cross. So special. :)
We got home and Billy gave me these beautiful roses and Porter added his "flower" that he made at church. It was perfect.
Rewind a bit....before church, we put out the dyed Easter eggs so the Easter Bunny could come while we were at church. This is what we left on the front porch:
And THIS is what Porter found when he got home!!!
This is before the reveal :)
The Easter Bunny sure was good to him this year! :)

Then, he got to "hunt" for the eggs the Easter Bunny hid for him. He dropped and broke almost every single egg, but loved every minute.

Then, after a very short nap, we headed to Nanny and Pop Pop's to finish off our fun Easter day. Nanny had a wonderful meal and fun Easter cocktails for us. And, of course eggs hidden EVERYWHERE for Mr. P!
(Monica, Tom, Tommy, Ashley and Alli...we missed you so much this year!)
Almost every picture at Nanny's looks like this one. Porter's mouth full of candy! :)
He got an Easter basket full of fun goodies!!!!
He loved looking for eggs inside AND outside!
WE ARE SO VERY BLESSED TO HAVE SUCH A WONDERFUL FAMILY TO SHARE EASTER WITH. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING OUR EASTER SO SPECIAL!
