BEAT THE HEAT WEEK-Day1

Saturday, June 27
TEMPERATURE
High: 103

Yesterday started "BEAT THE HEAT" week at the Carroll house. Mommy decided we needed to be creative and have fun in this crazy summer weather! SO, for the next few days, we will document our blazing hot temperatures and share with you our ideas for staying cool! All we ask of you is that you write in and tell us how YOUR family beats the heat!

Drink plenty of COLD ice water whenever you are outside!
Get to the baseball park early (before 8:00 a.m.). It's cooler and you can have the place to yourself!
Take advantage of your sprinkler systems! Just make sure they are turned off before 10:00 a.m.! (Mommy learned about that the hard way!!)
Get a BIG new pool at Target (only $14.99) and convince your Daddy to swim with you!
Go to the covered park in McKinney (thanks for the tip Kara!) and you don't even have to put on sunscreen. YES!
Move any and all sports to the water ;)
If you do go to the park, go before 9:00 a.m. It's the ONLY time it's bearable!
Oh, and wear lightweight clothes and stay comfortable! You will have a "ball"~ :)

looking back....

I didn't want to forget about my trip to Gilmer a few weeks ago. Mommy forgot her camera, so everything was documented on her camera phone! I am so glad she caught these memories....

Poppy showed me his "minnows" for fishing
I got to ride in the boat at Uncle Dave's new pond

and wade in the water

Grandad had a turtle to show me

He wouldn't show me his face :(

Back at Mia's, we made a tent!

and enjoyed our morning walks and the nice weather

My favorite part about our trip was picking blackberries! I eat them right off the vine! mmmm

This looks like a ripe one

Happy Daddy Day

MY FUN DAD

I have the greatest daddy in the whole wide world! He always makes things fun!

He takes me on adventures when it's "daddy time" and I always learn something new.
He puts me to bed every single night We watch Praise Baby and he prays with me.
He plays guitar and sings funny songs to make me laugh!
He reads to me in funny voices. :)
He takes me to eat ice cream cone cones!
We have "pillow fives" (pillow fights) after my bath every night.
He takes me on long walks in the wagon.
He runs through the sprinklers with me!
He takes me swimming.
He lets me dance to the music in his office.
He lets me "drive" his jeep.
He watches "CARS" with me.
and overall, he's just the greatest daddy around.

I am very thankful for you, Daddy!
I love you very much!

Moms and the City

This past weekend, Mommy went to see the "taxi cabs" (in New York City)! It was her Mother's Day gift! I got to stay home with Mia, Dee and Daddy. I had a blast (even though I missed Mommy)! I got to go to the little town in Allen, play in the pool, eat Mickey Mouse pancakes, go to the Purple Cow, ride the tractors (lawn mowers at Lowe's), go to the Rocket Park, and do SO many other fun things! Mommy brought me back my very own taxi cab and I love it so much it sleeps with me now! :)

Here are some of Mommy's favorite memories in NYC!

Having dessert and coffee with Miss Annie, Miss Meredith and my Aunt Amanda who lives in the city!
We wish you lived closer, Amanda!
Our mommies were on the Today show! Did you see it?!?!?!
They loved and missed us very much!
But they said they loved their time in NYC and hope to go back again!

Of course, Sutton and I couldn't wait for our mommies to show up at the airport!
WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HOME!!!!!!

REWIND

Mommy has been behind with my blog lately, so I have a lot to tell you!  Here are some highlights from my already awesome SUMMER!

One afternoon, Daddy came home from work and ran through the sprinklers with me!  It was the highlight of my day!
A few weeks ago, Mommy and I went to Gilmer to celebrate Poppy's birthday and check on Grandad because  he wasn't feeling well.  As usual, I got to experience some fun "country" things!

My number one request at the farm:  Riding the golf cart!
I got to look for tadpoles in Uncle Dave's pond
and feed the catfish!
Mia helped me walk through the mud :)
Uncle Dave showed me how to fish in the waterfall
I learned to catch tadpoles all by myself
Back at Mia's, a REAL dump truck brought gravel to their house.  I couldn't wait to see what they brought so I escaped in my pjs!  Super cool!
When we got  back in town, Tanner had us over for a cookout!  Mrs. Kara had us wear our rain boots since it was muddy out and she made us the *perfect* dessert....dirt cake! MMMMM!
So, on a different note, one of my new favorite summer snacks is PICKLES! I love them!
And, Mommy said she couldn't resist showing this picture.  It sums up what a summer day is like for me.  Ant bites, a sticker and stamp from gymnastics class, a scratch on my big toe where I stumped it running through the house, etc.  You get the idea! :)
And of course what summer week wouldn't be complete without playgroup in the pool?  Mrs. Meredith, I had a blast at your house.  I love your new backyard!
Then, on Memorial Day, Nanny and Pop Pop had us over for a cookout. I got to play with the new sprinkler toy Nanny got for me and I had a ball!  Thanks for having us over! :)
